Short Take: Perhaps the best video game adaptation to date - for what that's worth

Synopsis: One day in an Arabian marketplace one young orphan boy named Dastan would risk his life to save another’s, and the display of such courage and humanity led the disguised King Sharaman of the Persian Empire (Ronald Pickup) to adopt the boy and raise him alongside his two sons. All three boys grew up to share a strong brotherly bond and undying love for their father, however one fateful day the King is assassinated and Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) unwarrantedly receives the blame. On the run with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton), whose city was just recently sacked by the Persians and was being forcefully wed to Dastan, the two find themselves in the middle of an even bigger problem. A scheme was afoot to retrieve a special dagger from Tamina’s city that had the ability to turn back time. A gift from the Gods, Tamina is the guardian of the dagger, which she and Dastan must keep away from whoever was trying to steal it. On top of that, Dastan cannot rest until he proves his innocence. Short Take: Heavy and uncomprimising, but definately worth your time and thought

Synopsis: Marine Capt. Sam Cahill (Maguire) has been shipped off to Afghanistan leaving his wife Grace (Portman) and two kids at home, along with his brother Tommy (Gyllenhaal) who was recently released from prison. Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of "Prince of Persia"

ComingSoon.net is starting a string of articles divulging the information they learned on their trip to the shooting set of the upcoming film adaptation of the Prince of Persia videogame. The site visited England’s famous Pinewood Studios, and got a chance to do and see a number of really exciting things.

This initial article doesn’t give away too much off the bat, but does detail the basics such as the loose storyline (that is not exactly the same as the videogame’s). They were also able to get in touch with the leading actor of the film, Jake Gyllenhaal, and get an interview. They also interviewed the film’s leading lady, Gemma Arterton, who plays Princess Tamina.

If this first article is any indication of what’s to come, it will very much be worth it to those who are interested to know more about Prince of Persia to follow ComingSoon.net’s updates about their visit to the film’s set.
